COURSE AIM

To provide intensive First Aid at Work Training to prepare the candidate for the position of First Aider in the Workplace

TARGET GROUP

The course is for all require First aid at Work to comply with Health and Safety-First Aid Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982 and Safety, Health and Welfare at work (General Application) Regulations 1993 (Republic of Ireland)

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • First Aid and its’ practice
  • Action in an Emergency
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation 
  • Disorders of the airway and breathing
  • Circulatory problems
  • Wounds and bleeding
  • Bites and stings
  • Burns and scalds
  • Treating the unconscious casualty
  • Effects of temperature variations
  • Bone, joint and muscle injuries
  • Poisoning
  • Application of dressings and bandages
  • Reporting and logging of incidents
  • Scenario based for the workplace.

DURATION OF COURSE:  1 day a week or over 3 days intensive course entailing comprehensive training 

CERTIFICATION:  A recognised 3 years certificate accredited by HSENI

PRE-REQUISITE:   Minimum of 10 persons, maximum 12

TRAINERS:  Fully qualified and accredited
