To ensure candidates are competent with all the skills and knowledge in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automatic External Defibrillation (AED).  The course includes scenario training for various environments where a casualty requires CPR and an AED to save their life. Candidates will be taught to use the November 2005 ERC guidelines for Basic Life Support.

The Mnemonic DRSABC is taught:  Don’t  Run  Stay  And  Be  Calm


  • How to assess the collapsed victim
  • How to perform chest compression and rescues breathing
  • How to operate an automated external defibrillator safely
  • How to place an unconscious breathing victim in the recovery position

DURATION OF THE COURSE:   Taught over 1 day or 2 evenings

CERTIFICATION:  1-year certificate of competency following successful assessment

PRE REQUISITE:  Minimum of 10 persons
